Dwayne Johnson confirma que vai estrelar ‘Doc Savage’

Agora está mais certo do que nunca!

Em uma publicação em seu perfil no Instagram, The Rock confirmou que vai estrelar ‘Doc Savage‘, adaptação que virá pelas mãos do mega talentoso Shane Black, de ‘Homem de Ferro 3‘ e do novo ‘Predador’.

A expectativa é que ‘Doc Savage‘ seja rodado depois de Black finalizar ‘Predador‘, algo que só deverá acontecer em meados de junho/julho de 2017.

Comic book fans around the world know that the cool thing about “Doc” Savage is that he’s the inspiration for Superman. First name Clark, called “Man of Bronze”, retreats to his “Fortress of Solitude” in the Arctic etc etc. Doc was physically and mentally trained from birth by his father and a team of scientists to become the perfect human specimen with a genius level intellect. His heightened senses are beyond comprehension. He can even identify a women’s perfume from half a mile away. He is literally the master of everything. But here’s the #1 reason I’m excited to become Doc Savage.. HE’S A F*CKING HILARIOUS WEIRDO! Confidently, yet innocently he has zero social graces whatsoever due to his upbringing so every interaction he has with someone is direct, odd, often uncomfortable and amazingly hilarious. After speaking for hours w/ Shane Black I can see why the creator of Superman took only the best parts of Doc Savage and leaving the “weirdo” part behind. But to us, it’s that “weirdo” part that makes Clark “Doc” Savage dope! Finding our anchor. When I’m shooting on location I always need a space where I can work and keep building the enterprise. Here in Georgia this has been my space for months now. Keepin’ it country. Every film, TV show, partnership and project we develop gets handled from here. When I feel good about it, it goes in the pile to the left that clearly reflects my OCD. When I’m still making adjustments, it stays on the pile on the right. All contracts that need signing remain in the middle. On the iPad I’m reading an outline for a cool movie I’ll make in 2017 (with director Shane Black) and when I get tired and need a lil’ pick me up, the shaker cup holds a special shot of energy – Elk piss. The more complicated our lives get, the more we need simple spaces like this to anchor us. Shane Black disse no mês de março, em conversa com o Thrillist para a divulgação de seu novo longa, ‘Dois Caras Legais‘, que ele quer The Rock como o personagem título.

Doc Savage está em uma espécie de éter agora. Nós estamos esperando para torná-lo real no próximo ano. Eu gostaria muito de fazer Doc com um sujeito chamado Dwayne Johnson. Tomei uma decisão de que Dwayne é o cara.

A adaptação da HQ será dirigida por Shane Black (‘Homem de Ferro 3’).

‘Doc Savage’ foi criado em 1933 e protagonizou inúmeros “pulp fictions” ao longo das décadas de 1930 e 1940, além de aparecer em histórias em quadrinhos e programas de rádio. Apenas um filme foi realizado, ‘Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze’, lançado em 1975 e mal recebido pela crítica e pelo público.

The Rock deve interpretar Clark Savage Jr., também conhecido como Doc Savage, um médico, físico, cientista, gênio e músico, com poderes acima do comum.

O roteiro de ‘Doc Savage’ foi escrito a seis mãos por Black, Anthony Bagarozzi e Charles Mondry.

Neal H. Moritz, da franquia ‘Velozes & Furiosos’, e Michael E. Uslan, que trabalhou em todos os ‘Batman’ desde 1989, produzem.
