‘Stranger Things’: Irmãos Duffer são acusados de abuso e pedem desculpas

Os irmãos Matt e Ross Duffer emitiram um pedido formal de desculpas, mediante as acusações de abuso verbal contra mulheres no set de filmagens de ‘Stranger Things‘.

O comunicado veio logo após as revelações feitas por Peyton Brown, uma mulher que trabalha na produção e que havia pedido demissão da série após perceber o comportamento agressivo dos criadores, em relação a algumas colegas de trabalho.

Em resposta às alegações, os irmãos Duffer se posicionaram:

“Nós estamos profundamente chateados em descobrir que alguém se sentiu incomodado no nosso set. Devido à natureza altamente estressante da produção, os temperamentos ocasionalmente saem de controle e, por isso, nós pedimos desculpas. Entretanto, nós acreditamos que é importante não caracterizar erroneamente o nosso set, no qual nós acreditamos firmemente em tratar todos igualmente independentemente do gênero, orientação sexual, etnia, religião ou qualquer outra coisa. Nós continuamos totalmente engajados em oferecer um ambiente de trabalho seguro e colaborativo para todas as pessoas nas nossas produções”.

Peyton fez as acusações através de sua conta do Instagram, além de revelar que não trabalharia mais na terceira temporada de ‘Stranger Things‘ devido ao suposto comportamento abusivo.

Em sua publicação ela afirmou:

I guess there’s no better day than #nationalwomensday to say #timesup and announce that I will not be a part of the filming of Season 3 of Stranger Things. Why, you ask? Because I stand with my sisters. I personally witnessed two men in high positions of power on that set seek out and verbally abuse multiple women. I promised myself that if I were ever in a situation to say something that I would. I have 11.5 thousand followers who can hear me say this, TIME IS UP. Women in the film industry are POWERFUL. We will rise and we will scream from mountain tops in support of each other and I will not contribute my time, efforts, and talent to such abusive people. There is too much going on in this world to be regressive. There are too many amazing and highly respected men in respective positions of power that I have had the utmost pleasure of working beside. Those are the people I want to surround myself with. Those are the projects I want to be a part of. This industry is no longer led by a “few good men,” but instead by an OCEAN of ASTOUNDING WOMEN. Enough is enough. “Acho que não há melhor dia que o Dia Internacional da Mulher para dizer que o tempo acabou e anunciar que eu não mais farei parte das filmagens da terceira temporada de Stranger Things. ‘Porque?’, você me pergunta. Porque eu fico com as minhas irmãs. Eu pessoalmente testemunhei dois homens em alta posição de poder naquele set perseguirem e abusar verbalmente de várias mulheres”.
