Nesta última quarta-feira, 19 de janeiro, foram anunciados os indicados à 33ª edição dos GLAAD Media Awards, premiação que visa celebrar a representatividade LGBTQIA+ na mídia mainstream, incluindo no cinema, na televisão e na música, entre os dias 01 de janeiro e 31 de dezembro do ano passado.
Os nomeados foram revelados pela finalista do icônico programa de competição ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, Gottmik, através do TikTok.
“Mídia pode criar uma mudança positiva – e os indicados deste ano representam poderosos projetos, histórias e criadores que mudaram a cultura positivamente e trouxeram ao público histórias LGBTQIA+ novas e impactantes”, declarou o presidente da GLAAD, Sarah Kate Ellis. “Há mais indicados este ano do que nunca [246 entre 30 categorias], destacando um aumento no cenário da visibilidade LGBTIQA+ e servindo como lembrete do papel crítico que os filmes, a televisão, a música, o jornalismo e outras forma de mídia podem ter na aceitação crescente dos LGBTQIA+ em face a constantes ataques contra nossa comunidade”.
A cerimônia de vencedores acontecerá em Los Angeles no dia 02 de abril de 2022 e em Nova York no dia 06 de maio de 2022.
